Veterinary Specialty Care? Is Never More Important Than When It's For Someone Very Special
Internal Medicine
At Dogs & Cats Veterinary Referral specialized internal medicine services are available to accurately diagnose and treat your pet’s disease. This service is provided by Dr. Kathy Arrington, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM (Internal Medicine). Dr. Arrington is assisted by a team of highly trained technicians to help in the diagnosis and management of your pet’s illness.
At DCVR we use only the most advanced equipment to diagnose your pet’s disease. During your pet’s visit we are able to provide a complete diagnostic work-up. The specialty of Internal Medicine covers a wide range of diseases and organ systems. To reach precise diagnosis we have a modern in-house laboratory, dedicated abdominal ultrasound unit with color flow Doppler by Aloka, videoendoscopy by Olympus, rigid endoscopy by Karl Storz, in addition to radiography, and a range of other diagnostic methods.
During the office visit, Dr. Arrington will discuss with you the best diagnostic and therapeutic options for your pet. You can expect in most cases to leave your pet with us for a few hours or the rest of the day. If more convenient for you, a future date can be scheduled to perform the diagnostics recommended.
Our hospitalization services are capable to care for the most debilitated cases. We are staffed with a team of caring and competent veterinary technicians that will take an active roll in the care of your pet. If hospitalization is needed, Dr. Arrington will discuss with you all the details. While in you have your pet hospitalized, daily updates will be provided to you about the progress of your pet.
For some procedures a sedative or general anesthesia will be required. Rest assured that we have all monitoring equipment and newest modalities to provide a safe and fast recovery from the procedure. Dr. Arrington will inform you in advance of the most appropriate protocols for your pet and will be available to answer any questions you may have.
At the end of the visit you receive a personalized report of the findings and treatment recommendations. Follow-up recommendations and prognosis will be discussed with you. Your family veterinarian will receive a faxed report immediately at the end of the visit.
Because we work with a team of veterinary specialists, when needed we can closely consult with other specialists in the areas of cardiology, neurology and surgery to offer you a complete solution.
