Kathy A. Arrington - DVM, ACVIM (Internal Medicine)
Dr. Arrington received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Tennessee at
Knoxville in 1988. Upon graduation, she completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Angel Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, MA. From 1990 to 1993, she was a resident in small animal medicine at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, moving onto a role as a clinical instructor the following year. In 1994, she received Board Certification in Internal Medicine by the American College of Veterinary Medicine.
Luis Braz-Ruivo - DVM, DVSc, ACVIM (Cardiology)
Dr. Luis Braz-Ruivo received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Universidade Tecnica de Lisboa in Lisbon, Portugal in 1986. In 1992, he began a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College in Ontario, Canada. From 1993 to 1996, Dr. Braz-Ruivo served as a cardiology resident there. In 1996, he received Board Certification in Cardiology by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. In 1999, Dr. Braz-Ruivo received his Doctor of Veterinary Science from Ontario Veterinary College.
Eileen P. Snakard - DVM, ACVS
Dr. Snakard graduated cum laude from Villanova University in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She headed south to attend the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama and graduated magna cum laude in 1996. She completed a general internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City, NY in 1997 followed by a surgical internship at the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center in Texas. In 2001, she completed a three year residency in small animal surgery at Texas A&M University and joined a large veterinary referral hospital in Virginia in 2001. She passed the board certification examination to become a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Prior to joining Dogs and Cats Veterinary Referral, she was an associate with a large veterinary referral hospital in Los Angeles, California.
In April of 2006, Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine honored Dr. Snakard with the Class of 1996 Young Achievers Award. Although she enjoys all aspect of veterinary surgery, her special interests are minimally invasive thoracic and abdominal surgery and plastic and reconstructive soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
