Dr. Julie Gillem is the medical oncologist on staff at Dogs and Cats Veterinary Referral. Dr. Julie Marie Gillem joined the DCES staff in August 2016. Dr. Gillem is originally from Arlington, Virginia. She graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 and subsequently completed a one year rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Gillem completed her residency at the University of Pennsylvania College of Veterinary Medicine in July 2016. She enjoys learning about all aspects of veterinary oncology, but has a special interest in canine and feline lymphoma. Dr. Gillem thoroughly looks forward to further developing the oncology department at Dogs and Cats Veterinary Emergency & Specialty and working with fellow specialists, emergency doctors, and interns. She is also eager to cultivate and establish relationships with referring veterinarians in the area. In her free time, Dr. Gillem enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends, and pet dog, Gabriel.
