Dogs and Cats Emergency & Specialty

Blood Donor Program

Every day, hundreds of dogs and cats are in need of lifesaving blood transfusions. Just like people, pets may lose large amounts of blood due to surgery or trauma, or require transfusions to treat autoimmune conditions and other serious illnesses.

To help every pet and family in need of a blood transfusion, we rely on the invaluable contributions of our feline and canine blood donors. Learn more about whether your cat or dog qualifies to donate and how to join our Blood Donor Program.

What are the requirements to join the blood donor program?

To help us meet the demand, we're looking for healthy dogs and cats that are:

  • No current health issues
